THE GONG PEACE NUSANTARA MONUMENT PALU
I know you came not without reason. Here you are in Ayu's world of travel!
The Gong Peace Nusantara Monument or the Nosarara Nosabatutu Monument which in the Kaili language (indigenous tribes in Central Sulawesi) means brothers and one.
The Gong Peace Nusantara
Monument was built in the city of Palu due to fears of social violence and
conflict in the Central Sulawesi region, such as Poso, Sigi, and other areas,
which has caused deep sorrow for the victims of social violence and conflict in
the regions. It is felt necessary to build symbols of peace in Palu City to
remind the community and future generations not to repeat social violence.
Brigadier Dewa Parsana
Kapolda Central Sulawesi, who sparked the idea of the monument as a symbol of
peace, was officially inaugurated on March 11, 2014, inviting all corners of
the country to actively participate in realizing security, peace, and
prosperity. For Indonesian people in general and Central Sulawesi in
particular. This monument is in the form of a peace gong.
Each section of the
Nosarara Nosabatutu Peace Gong contains several writings. The three
segments of the circle and one protruding part are located at the front of the
gong. The names of cities and provinces in Indonesia are included in the
outermost circle, along with 444 logos. The 33 logos, names of Indonesian
provinces, and the words “GONG PERDAMAIAN NUSANTARA, SARANA PERSAUDARAAN DAN
PEMERSATU BANGSA” can be found in the center circle. There are five religious
symbols inside, representing Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, Catholicism, and
Hinduism. Depictions of the Indonesian island are shown amidst the prominent
gong, and the 1945 Constitution is inscribed above the gong.
After a day of work, we
can unwind in this area with live music, various selfie photo spots, and several cafes if we are thirsty to enjoy drinks and food while feasting our
eyes on the natural scenery. The beautiful Palu Bay has a white cloud roof and
green views of various plants and trees that adorn the park. For Muslim
tourists who will pray, this location has a small prayer room and toilet.
The beauty that this
place has, makes it crowded with tourists, especially for those who want to
have a vacation with their family on vacation or friends.
So, it will be a big loss
if you don't come to this place while in Palu.
